5th Point is accredited by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) to deliver GWO Basic Safety Training Initial (BSTI) and GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR). The course is delivered by our experienced and qualified instructors, bringing a depth of knowledge and expertise to our candidates. Our purposely designed facilities will ensure a safe and controlled environment to undertake the course.

In addition to GWO modules, 5th Point now offer nationally recognised units of competencies that may be undertaken simultaneously with the GWO course (please see below for further information). Training and assessment delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.

The course consists of 4 days of training (and pre-course work for those undertaking additional RTO units).

The below additional nationally recognised units of competency that may be undertaken simultaneously with the GWO Basic Safety Training course (Training and assessment delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909).

  • RIIWHS204E Working Safely at Heights
  • HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Please note, the above nationally recognised units of competencies require pre-course work to be completed prior to attending the GWO Basic Safety Training course. All students who register for the additional units of competencies will be emailed course details after booking the GWO Basic Safety Training course.

Learning Objectives

This course is designed for technicians and specialists working in the wind industry. 5th Point’s GWO Basic Safety Training Initial (BSTI) course will assist candidates to develop, practice and maintain safe work practices and everyday tasks whilst working in the wind industry.

Prerequisites

BST Modules may potentially be physically demanding. A medical declaration is required prior to undertaking the course, to ensure students are physically capable to perform the physical tasks, in particular the practical activities associated with working at heights.
