Description
Falls from heights remain one of the biggest causes of death, disability and injury in workplaces in Australia. If you work in construction, or on building sites, you are likely to be working at heights at various times. It’s vital for you to be able to identify and control the risk of falls in your workplace.
5th Point offers the nationally recognised RIIWHS204E Work Safely Working at Heights unit of competency, in a one-day course, to businesses and individuals. Fully certified TAE Trainers with relevant industry experience deliver the course materials, ensuring that a wealth of experience underpins the training that we offer.
Course Outline
This nationally accredited one day course (approximately 6-8 hours) provides knowledge and skills for working safely at heights. The course includes:
- Definition of Working at Heights
- Planning the Work
- Identifying Hazards and Controlling Risks
- Safely Accessing the Work Area
- Performing Work Safely at Heights
- Emergency Procedures
- Clearing the Work Area
- Storing and Maintaining Equipment
Learning Objectives
This course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to plan and prepare for working at heights, identify and control hazards, inspect and use height safety equipment, apply fall prevention and fall arrest systems, safely access and work at elevated locations, and respond to emergencies in accordance with workplace procedures and legislative requirements.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for enrolment in this course.

All students who enrol in this course must bring a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number with them.
To obtain a USI, please head to www.usi.gov.au and register. The process takes around 4 min to complete.
