This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to work safely in the electrotechnology industry by following work health and safety (WHS) or occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and codes of practice. You’ll learn how to identify hazards and control risks and follow the proper procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

- Occupational health and safety /work health and safety (OHS/WHS) legislation and regulations

Theory Assessment includes:
- Formative assessment – students will be provided with an assessment paper containing a range of questions, including multiple choice, true and false, matching description and student expected responses.
Practical Assessments includes:
- Performance Task – Respond to two simulated electrical work at height scenarios as selected but the Assessor.
- Complete the following documentation:
- Incident Report
- Risk Assessment
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to apply work health and safety (WHS) legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and workplace procedures to carry out work safely. They will be able to identify workplace hazards, implement appropriate risk control measures, use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for enrolment in this course.
This course does require reading, writing and numeracy skills. To access the specific LLN form, students will prompted to complete the necessary pre-course assessments in the Allens Training student portal upon registration.
All students who enrol in this course must possess a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number with them.
To obtain a USI, please head to www.usi.gov.au and register. The process takes around 4 min to complete.
